Had a busy day last Saturday helping The BHWT re-homing 160 hens. A georgeous day for the colony hens first taste of the outside world. It’s an absolutely amazing feeling seeing their faces experiencing such basic things for the first time. They were a feisty bunch to say the least and i hope they are all happy in their new homes. Good luck ladies x

I passed on the details to a friend when I saw your post a few weeks ago and she got 6 hens on Saturday! I’ll let you know how they are doing when I see her in a few days! 🙂

# Helen. That’s brilliant. Keep us updated. The BHWT careline is fantastic if she has any worries.
Ahh sweet girls….they will soon feather up and learn to scratch normally with a bit of tlc.!

News from six of the re homes – all doing well (laying an egg each every day) and have started to watch and learn from her other 5 hens she has although they are still in separate enclosures & houses. They didn’t know what to do when they saw a worm and didn’t eat it but I’m sure they will soon be scratching around eating everything & enjoying their new freedom!
That’s fab. They don’t take long to catch on. Caught Sapphire – an ex barn from from last dec sunbathing on my wooden floor in my lounge this week. She follows me everywhere and feels safer surrounded by walls. She’s adorable but drives the volunteers mad. Another re-homing in April so spread the word x
